Silk & Art Newsletter February 2013

A heart-felt welcome to all of you reading my newsletter and supporting my work in different ways. I just realised that this is the last newsletter you will get this with ‘old look’.

Many of you will already know that a few days ago we launched my site with a completely different image, which was very exciting. It is now very visual and I am able to work daily on it, adding and changing things as I go. There is now a blog incorporated into it as well as a much easier to navigate shop.

And the good news is that I have a lovely SILKY GIVEAWAY to celebrate this launch. I am asking that everyone who takes part in the giveaway signs up for my newsletter, but since all of you are already signed up, all you have to do is simply follow this link and scroll down the home page to find out how to take part. The giveaway is open now until Monday 11th.

And here’s the link: The brand new www.silkandart.com.

So the next newsletter will be clean and white with the colourful header you see above, just like the new site.

I’d love to hear what you think of the site, so please leave your comments sharing your thoughts and I’ll be sure to respond. It’s a work in progress, so we have a long way to go before it really fills up. But I’m loving how it’s all turning out.

So what have I been doing since the last newsletter? Well I launched my new mandala silk painting kits and dvds and am really pleased with how they have been received.  They’ve already been shipped to Italy and Holland which is wonderful. In case you missed them, here’s the link to all the details: Luxury Silk Painting Kit and DVD. You can buy the kit with or without the dvd and can specify whether or not you want paints or dyes. And I have an option of sending the kits to Europe for around £10 by normal, untrackable post which can greatly reduce costs. Let me know if you are interested.

The Cosmic Web Mandala Oracle Deck

And of course the big project right now is my new deck of MANDALA ORACLE CARDS. Now this really is exciting. Any day now I will be submitting the files to have the first batch of decks published. As a self publisher I cannot compete with the mass produced decks and so the price is going to be quite a bit higher. But I am trusting the process and will see how this all develops as the decks become better known.

Our current estimates are that the decks will cost £20 plus shipping (approx. $31). And I am considering making a special package and offering a handpainted 20″ x 20″ silk cloth for card spreads to go with it. It may be possible to dropship to US destinations but I will keep you up to date on developments in that area.

—-  Workshops  —-

I would love to be doing some more workshops soon – most probably in Glastonbury as a few of you have asked about this. I love the space in St. Edmund’s Hall and it offers great facilities for all sorts of workshops. Plus parking is so easy there. So I’ll be sending out some new dates very soon now.  And I’m going to be putting together a slideshow of photos from some past workshops too so I’ll be sharing that on the site in the Galleries section.

—-  Photo Testimonials  —-

I’m also putting out the call for more photos from all you wonderful people who have bought silks from me in the past as I am compiling a silk deva gallery too. It’s going to take the form of  a slideshow and I’m so pleased I’m beginning to receive some lovely photos from you all. So if you’d like to pose for the camera showing off your silk scarf, I’d love you to send it to me so I can add it to the collection. Thank you!

—-  Silk & Art on Facebook  —-

And don’t forget that I’m active on a daily basis on Facebook too. Do come and visit the Silkandart Facebook Page and keep up to date with my goings-on. Now that I have the new site I will of course be sharing a lot more there as well, especially since I now have an on-site blog for the more visual posts.

You will still be able to read all my regular blog posts over at Inspired Art and Living.

And for some more contact details and information about what services I offer, the new About page on the site will point you in the right direction.

That’s just about all for this newsletter. It’s a bit shorter than usual but I just wanted to make sure I got it out in time for you to take part in the giveaway. I hope to see you there.

And take care and be creative and enjoy life.

See you soon.

Warm wishes

Fiona
